Bolton Muslim Girls' School

Welcome to Year 7

Assalam Alaikum, my name is Mrs Richards and I am the Head of Year 7.

It is with great joy that I welcome you to our school community as your daughters begin their journey into Year 7. This is a significant milestone, not only in their academic lives but also in their personal and spiritual growth, and I am honoured to be part of it.

Year 7 is a time of transition, discovery, and new potential. At Bolton Muslim Girls' School, we are deeply committed to nurturing each student in a safe, supportive, and faith‑enriched environment. We aim to instil confidence, resilience and a love of learning, while upholding the values of Islam alongside our British values.

As the Head of Year 7, my role is to ensure that every student feels seen, heard and valued. I work closely with our dedicated staff to support your daughters academically, socially and emotionally, helping them settle into secondary school life with ease and enthusiasm.

I believe that a strong partnership with parents and carers is key to a successful school experience. I look forward to working together with you, sharing in your daughters’ achievements and supporting them through any challenges they may face.

In addition to the above, I am the Digital Lead at Bolton Muslim Girls' School. In this vital role, I work alongside staff and our team of trained Digital Leaders, who are BMGS learners who help promote safe, responsible, and respectful internet use across the school. Together, we ensure that all learners understand the importance of online safety and of reporting any concerns. I therefore encourage any learner experiencing issues related to online behaviour or safety to speak with me or their form tutor so that we can offer immediate support and take appropriate action.
