Student Ambassadors

Student Ambassadors & Wellbeing Support at BMGS

At BMGS, we are proud to have a dedicated team of student ambassadors who play an active role in supporting learners throughout their school journey. These students help create a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where every child feels listened to and valued.

All students are welcome to drop into Pastoral or locate the Ambassadors during break time to speak to a member of our student ambassador teams. The Wellbeing Hub is a safe space where students can talk, seek guidance, or simply feel supported.

While there are no set activities running every day, support is always available. All learners are made aware of who their ambassadors are within each area of school life.

Digital Leaders - Support with online issues, digital safety, and responsible use of technology.
Having problems online or unsure how to stay safe? Our Digital Leaders are here to help.

Be Kind to My Mind Champions - Champions play a vital role in promoting positive mental health and wellbeing across our school. They help create a supportive, inclusive environment by raising awareness, encouraging open conversations, and reminding everyone of the importance of kindness to ourselves and to others. Our Champions are available every day at lunchtime and breaktime, offering a friendly presence and a listening ear, and helping to ensure that everyone knows support is always available.

Student Shura Representatives - A platform for student voice and leadership. The Student Shura is a group of students chosen from each form to represent their classmates. It gives students a chance to share their ideas, opinions, and concerns about school life, as well as suggest changes they would like to see.

Representatives meet every half term with me and a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to discuss these ideas. They explain their views, listen to others, and work together to find the best solutions for everyone.

Many ideas shared through the Student Shura have already made a difference, such as changes to school uniform, Eid celebrations, school trips, better canteen lunches, and Class Charts rewards.

Each form has two representatives. Their job is to talk to their form, collect ideas and issues, and bring them to the meetings so every student’s voice can be heard.

Anti-Bullying Ambassadors - Guidance on bullying, peer conflict, and how to seek help.
Learn the difference between conflict and bullying and report any concerns safely.

Deputy Head Girl – Maryam R

'My role is centred on leadership, representation, and fostering a positive school culture. My primary responsibilities involve organizing key school events, such as the Leavers’ Assembly and Presentation Evening. These tasks require planning and coordination with staff and peers, and a high level of communication to ensure every student’s achievements are celebrated properly.

Through these responsibilities, I am actively developing several core professional skills:

  • Public Speaking: Regularly addressing large audiences has built my confidence and ability to communicate clearly and persuasively.
  • Project Management: Planning major events from start to finish has taught me how to manage timelines, delegate tasks, and solve problems under pressure.
  • Leadership and Diplomacy: Acting as a bridge between the student body and the senior leadership team has increased my ability to listen and lead with empathy.

These skills are helping me develop into a well-rounded and resilient individual. By stepping out of my comfort zone through public speaking and event management whilst also learning the value of service and teamwork within the school community.'

These skills are helping me grow into a more confident and organized individual, as I have learned how to manage responsibilities, make fair decisions, and communicate effectively with both students and staff. Being Head Prefect has also helped me become more mature and prepared for future leadership roles by teaching me how to handle challenges calmly and responsibly.’
