Criteria 1

Looked after girls or a girl who was previously looked after, but immediately after being looked after became subject to an adoption, child arrangements, or special guardianship order or those children who appear to the schools to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted.

Criteria 2 

Sibling- girls or a girl who live within the postcode areas of BL1, BL2, BL3 and BL4 and have named the school as a preference and have a sibling attending the school provided that the sibling is in year 7-10 and will continue to attend BMGS the following year.

Criteria 3

Girls or a girl whose parent/carer is a member of staff employed on a permanent contract by the school for two or more years at the time at which the application for admission to the school is made the two-year qualification period may be waived if a post is hard to fill due to a demonstrable skill shortage. (

Girls or a girl for whom the Governing Body accepts that they have proven, exceptionally medical or social circumstances, which are directly relevant to attendance at Bolton Muslim Girls’ School.

Sibling- girls or a girl living within the postcode areas of BL5, BL6, BL7, BL8, BL9 and those who reside outside Bolton have named the school as a preference and have a sibling attending the school provided that the sibling is in year 7-10 and will continue to attend BMGS the following year.

Criteria 6

To fulfil the school’s role as a community hub, after places have been filled under the first five criteria, remaining places will be allocated to applicants living in the postcode areas of BL1, BL2, BL3, BL4 and to those residents If the number of applicants in this category exceeds the number of places available, then the places will be allocated on the basis of proximity of the child’s home address to school, with those living nearer being accorded the higher priority. The distance from home to school will be calculated in a direct straight line from the child's permanent place of residence to the school.
